Cambodia’s open investment policy attracts a large number of foreign investors

According to the report of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, in the first half of this year, a total of 4,535 new companies, trade offices and foreign branches were registered with the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, an increase of 107.3% compared with 2,190 companies in the same period last year.

In the first half of this year, there were 1,205 registered enterprises with sole proprietorships, an increase of 152.09% compared with 478 in the same period last year. The number of registered companies, trade offices and foreign branches was 4,315, an increase of 29.11% compared with 3,342 in the same period last year.

The Minister of Commerce of Cambodia stated that increase in the registration of new companies was mainly due to the open investment policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the favorable investment environment in Cambodia.

The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia introduced an electronic registration system in 2015. As of now, companies registered through the electronic registration system have also grown.
